Quarterly business review, or QBR for short, is an opportunity to review, assess, and plan by looking at the big picture with your vendors. Mission-critical service partners, such as your IT vendor, can provide tremendous value in not only helping you plan for what’s ahead but also helping you get ahead. This week I’m going to give you 3 reasons why you should always have a business strategy chat on your calendar with me.
Service Review
– Checking in with your team regarding their experience with IT support and reviewing any service-related updates from your IT partner will ensure proper alignment and value for your business. Dedicating time to do this review will help eliminate issues such as team members hesitating to ask for help or causing trouble by visiting questionable websites. This, in turn, will boost productivity and reduce potential risks for your business.
Equipment Review
– By considering factors like warranties and support history, your IT partner can determine the lifecycle of all your equipment. With this information in hand, you can plan device upgrades, making it easier to budget for them and preventing costly downtimes.
Technology Review
– Technology advances rapidly, with new solutions always on the horizon. In your QBRs, you can identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in your current systems, and many times, these issues can be resolved through the introduction of new technology and automation. Embracing improved technology not only enhances your business but also makes it more effective and efficient in its operations.
Your technology needs might be straightforward, and quarterly reviews could feel too frequent. Even if it’s just once a year, it’s essential to stay in touch with your IT partner and ensure you have the next QBR date scheduled on your calendar.
In the first paragraph, I said, ‘I’m going to give you 3 reasons why you should always have a business strategy chat on your calendar with me.’ Here’s a bonus 4th reason: I always show up with chocolate!
See you at the next meeting,
